Legacy Ladies was awarded a grant for $9,000 from Verizon to support the organizations ongoing computer technology program, Computers 101: Technology for Life. This grant will make it possible for students to have the skills they need to learn and work in the 21st century. The "Technology for Life" program is more than just a computer class. It empowers the community to wield the power of technology in ways that can transform lives.
The core elements of the program include basic word processing, Power Point, Excel, Internet research and online applications. The program will be available during and after school hours and will be taught by classroom teachers and business professionals, to address the digital divide in this community
