  • The art work from the students at Crenshaw High School who participated in the art contest for World AIDS Day, was displayed at the California African American Museum.


February 27, 2007

  • KABC-TV7 covered the dedication of the “Legacy Ladies, Inc. Technology Center” at Crenshaw High School. A check for $32,609 was presented to Ms. Sanders, Principal at Crenshaw High School, for a mobile training lab. The labs, consisting of lap top computers will be used for an after school program.


March 15, 2007

  • The 3rd Annual Torch Awards was held at the Wilshire Grand Hotel in Los Angeles. The Legacy Ladies honored legends: John Williams, Dr. Norman Francis, Lt. Gen. Russel L. Honored and “The Little Rock Nine” – Ernest green, Gloria Ray Karlmark, Carlotta LaNier, Dr. Terrence Roberts, Jefferson Thomas, Minnie Jean Brown Trickey, Thelma Mothershed Wair, Melba Patilo Beals and Elizabeth Eckford. Special guest was Britney Bates and her family, the 2007 Adopt-A-Family.


March 27, 2007

  • The National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC) Foundation awarded Legacy Ladies a $5,000 grant to support a project to bridge the digital divide for students at Crenshaw Senior High School in South Los Angeles.

  • Training workshop begins for corporate “technology leaders” on Apple Computers MacBook.

  • Lady Jacqueline Castillo, 2007 Nominee, “Women Making a Difference” by Los Angeles Business Journal

  • “A Date in May” at Crenshaw High School. Workshops presented to graduating seniors on the following topics: AIDS, financial literacy, etiquette and transitions after high school.


June 1, 2007

  • End of the year retreat is held in Carlsbad, CA, conducted by Dr. Mattie Dobbs.


September 23 – 26, 2007

  • Ladies Patricia Gibson and Jacqueline Castillo travel to Little Rock, Arkansas, to celebrate the “Little Rock Nine” (2007 honorees) 50th Anniversary historical events.


November 13, 2007

  • The Legacy Ladies after school program, Computers 101: Technology for Life, begins at Crenshaw High School on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.


November 29, 2007

  • The organization participated in World AIDS Day by creating awareness of HIV/AIDS at Crenshaw High School through art. Over 150 students participated in the contest. The theme, AIDS Stops With Me.


December 12, 2007

  • Ladies Patricia and Jacqueline travel to Baltimore, MD, to meet Airman First Class Michael Fletcher and Yolanda Fletcher, the 2008 Adopt-A-Family. The Ladies delivered a check to the family for $1,500 to have a Merry Christmas.


December 22, 2007

  • Lady Loretta and Sir John Williams delivered a check to the 2007 Adopt-A-Family, to offer financial support over the holidays.
